Wingate by Wyndham Joliet

So very disappointed. Booked a room for 2 nights. On arrival, I noticed a paper taped to the counter that read the pool was closed. Came with my 2 small kids for the sole purpose of swimming. A young lady at the counter asked if I'd like to cancel the room before she checked me in and I kindly explained we only came to swim. She confirmed that it would not be a problem to be refunded because an email is sent to the third party letting them know that the hotel's amenities were down and no fault of my own. I was grateful for that option. Called 30 minutes after leaving just to be sure that no further action on my part needed to be done and the same young gladly confirmed It was taken care of when she forwarded the email. A month later still no refund. I called the hotel to follow up and find out from a very nasty, rude woman named Dillon that it was out of the hotel's hands and it was my fault I booked the room while their pool was broken 😳. I'm still in the process of trying to get my money refunded because it's absolutely absurd that such a disgruntled woman is the deciding factor of people rightfully getting refunded.
